Dear Parent / Guardian:
Thanks to a few seventh grade student’s research online, the following information may help your child find an appropriate Renaissance costume for our Renaissance Faire
scheduled for Friday, May 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please call the establishment before making the trip there.
--American Conservatory Theatre (415) 439-2379
--American Mix (415) 673-7454
--American Rag Clothing (415) 474-4553
--Costumes on Haight (415) 621-1356
735 Haight Street, S.F., CA 94117
If you and your child do not wish to rent a costume, you could help your child create a Renaissance-looking outfit with clothing that you already have.
A reminder that having a fundraiser on the day of the Renaissance Faire could help add to the seventh grader’s account. Again, thanks to a few seventh grader’s research online, simple desserts seemed to be favorites during the European Renaissance period: shortbread cookies, lemon pound cake, fruit tarts, and apple cider. If you could possibly make and donate these food items on the morning of the event, the students would be most grateful for your help and contribution.
The students are working on their Renaissance projects and may not be using their Social Studies textbook for the next few weeks; please closely supervise your child’s daily work on his / her Renaissance project which will be worth the equivalent of two exam grades in Social Studies for the fourth quarter. We had already discussed in class the requirements and assessments. Hope to see you at the Renaissance Faire!
